Spring is here! I have been back at work for about a month now; getting caught up with the team and making plans for the rest of 2026. It’s an exciting time, we are trying some new things this year as the marketing team to increase awareness of EMI. But since I was out on maternity leave for beginning of this year, I’m going to take this time to brag on the creative team I have the privilege to work with.
Raquel (Graphic Design Fellow) and Jenni (Photography/Videography specialist) were able to travel on two different trips in the first quarter to capture stories of hope happening around EMI.

Their first trip was to Cambodia. The main story focus was on a ministry the Cambodia office has been serving for several years now, Mission to the World (right). As a church planting ministry they bought a piece of land in Phnom Penh to build a church/dormitory, which is where EMI got involved. That dormitory is now complete and serving young people in the city. The story and video will be published in the July Inside EMI. While there, they were also able to visit and capture media for several different completed projects in and around PP.

Their second trip was to Alaska where EMI has been overseeing WASH community development for the past few years. I will also share these stories as they get published.
Sdam has had an up and down year so far between emergency gall bladder removal in January, passing the math GED test in February, and oral surgery last week. This is something he’s been needing for awhile and we are thankful that we are able to get it done. We will also soon be submitting his citizenship paperwork again and preparing for the interview.
